Homeland Security practiced transferring footprints. The first step in this process was to capture an image of the footprint. In order to do this, they placed a ruler down next to the footprint. This step was very crucial because they need to be able to tell the footprint size in the event the footprint got messed up during the transfer process.
Once the picture was captured, students were able to lay the tape. The role of the tape is to collect the footprint off the ground. Once the whole footprint was onto the tape, students were ready to transfer it over to the paper.
In order to transfer the footprint to paper, students gently removed the tape from the ground. After removed, it was carefully transferred and placed onto a blank sheet of paper.
