Each year, the LFI students run a dog treat business called LFI Treats. They’ve set up stations for each part of the creating process, starting with baking with the students rolling out the batter and using cut outs to shape the treats into bones and other fun shapes. Then it gets put into the oven to bake, once finished and cooled off it gets sorted from the good and bad. After being sorted they get put in goodie bags, while the sorting is happening there is a station that gets the tag and ribbon ready for each bag. Once put together, they get bunched together and placed into bags that are ready to be ordered. LFI Treats distribute treats 4-5 times a year while learning job skills. The proceeds from their sales help to pay for LFI and job placement uniforms, shoes, hats, and other materials, plus it helps LFI go on special outings.
