Capstone Idea
I wanted to take Interactive Media Productions because it had a lot of interesting programs I wanted to learn. Also to find out what kind of media I wanted to produce. I wanted a career in media because I want to make things and have others enjoy it to take my wild imagination and put it into something others can enjoy instead of just me. I really like games both video and tabletop and reading. I hope to get into college and pursue whatever i feel most passionate about which is another reason I’m here to hopefully find a passion. Or join the military then college either or.
I have two plausible ideas for my capstone either to make a game or to create a gallery of 3D models. I am leaning towards the 3D models but it’s just a matter of trying both and finding out which I find most interesting and possible.
Goals
My goal is to finish a few more basic objects and hopefully move on to more complex objects.
Update 1
I Have been working on learning Maya and making some basic objects to get familiar with the program

Update 2
I have been working on slightly more complex items like simple daggers and a Pc set-up. I should be able to start modeling more complex daggers or swords.

Update 3
My experience so far has been good if not tedious, but it has been picking up speed.
a positive is that I have a lot of time to think and learn a program, but I am a procrastinator and my work wont be as good as someone who already knew how to use the program. I have gotten better at basic modeling and i would like to get better at curving polygons.

Update 4
The current progress has been good another new weapon has been modeled, but still needs rendering. I plan to make a set of weapons in the same style and I am slowly, but surely getting through them. I have already made a sword as shown in the third update and i am nearly done with the bow. Soon I’ll have a full set and move on to make more sets.

Update 5
I have loved doing my capstone while it did start slow and some parts are difficult it has been one of my favorite school experiences. A few positives about a year long project is that you have a lot of time to do what you like and make a great product, it also means however procrastination is a big issue. Also because it takes a whole year their is a certain quality that is expected that put’s pressure on people. I have improved on my modeling objects and I would like to continue to get better at it and I would like to get better and rendering my models.

Update 6
I still like working on my capstone and being able to see my progress over the last few months. though I still have a problem with time management and rendering, but it’s better than before and I hope to continue getting better at it.

Update 7
Capstone progress has still been good yet slowing down due to me running out of unique weapons to model. Procrastination is still an issue, but it has been tempered somewhat. At least this year long project has been teaching me how to manage my time better. My rendering has gotten better it’s nothing too complex but it’s passible. Hopefully I get better before the deadline I have a few idea’s, but don’t have the skill to do them yet.

Update 8
I have ended my capstone with 29 models that I think are worthy of showing. Most of them took some kind of trial and error to create especially the ones with curves in the blade. Most of my capstone time has been finding out new and more efficient ways to use maya to create weapons and now I can call myself at least proficient in the program. The image on the right is an incomplete flail that was to be my 30th presentable work
