Capstone Idea
Concept art and designs will largely be pulled from the Project Moon games. (lots of converting 2D art and designs to a 3D space)
Capstone Progress Report October 3rd

One of the first things i did was move all my materials over to a toon shader. From there i spent a while trying to nail down the design and look of the Body armor. eventually found that the proportions of the base body were off and readjusted them to look better. from there i went through and made the pauldrons, antlers, hands and a pipe connecting the mask and pack.
While there are some things that still need work, such as painting on decals and the material im using for the antlers. I found this satisfactory enough to begin the process of rigging, of which i am currently learning Inverse Kinematics.
Moving forward i intend to finish the rigging process and start work on a basic walk cycle. assuming progress is swift i will then start work on the staff.
Capstone Progress Report November 3rd
While it wasnt a perfectly smooth process (had to make some more proportion adjustments) The Rig is finally in a functional state. the rest of the time was largely spent getting to grips with posing, keyframes, and just animating in general. below is a very short animation i made to test the functionality of the rig and troubleshoot.
Otherwise Ive begun the blockout process on the opening scene. Its Still very WIP Atm (Choosing a setting made almost entirely of dense cityscape tottally wasnt a horrible idea. Trust me)
With first marking period wrapping up i suppose this would be a solid time to reflect on the capstone as a whole. So far progress has been undeniably, good. but if i am to reach the goal i have in mind im going to need to pick up the pace. modeling as a whole has gotten a bit faster as ive picked up better techniques for topology and such but i really need to improve on my proportions. which i suppose is a good thing about the capstone being a year long project its a solid time limit so my perfection tendencies dont get in the way but long enough to give me time to properly pick up the skills i need to for this project.
Capstone Progress Report December 6th
still very WIP with the first scene but progress has been good so far.
finally decided to give Elinas (the name im giving the soldier for the time being) some hair….and that took a lil week cause i wanted to set up physics…. the pace of updates should start pickin up soon

Capstone Progress Report January 22nd
2nd marking period is wrapping up and there are a couple things to reflect on, so far the capstone been going well but im thinking i might have to downsize my “final product.” with this being a year long project it means i can safely make executive decision’s like this without much worry.
Ive gotten more to grips with modeling and of course but ive also been getting used to the material workflow and have finally begun to dabble with texture painting now that i’ve found a fix to allow it with my cell shader set up.
otherwise, since the last update the 2 main things ive done is make and finish the hypatia’s haulers truck (a Injoke from a tabletop group im in) and have begun modeling the first grunt (and his weapon)
Capstone Progress Report February 29th
Capstone has been lovely as a year long project but i feel im likely gonna have to majorly scale back my plans for the deadline.
It being a year long thing has helped tone down the stress of the undertaking, especially as its become more and more clear ive prolly bitten off alot more than i could chew with my original goal.
Ive gotten better with making more human characters but theres no beating around the bush that ive been shying away from having to model and rig faces to save time. But depending on how my progress rolls i might finally get around to properly modeling some.
questions required for this update aside. ive nabbed up all the ones ive finished for a screenshot. tho you’ll likely notice they’re in pretty different states and poses atm and thats its a majority of women, ive only gotten to making the male models in the last week or so. having litterally finished up the guy in green earlier today.
